Whaling collection exhibition photographs, 1919-1926.

Photographs documenting the whaling exhibition include views of a "jaggin wheel" made of sperm whale ivory with Robert Cushman Murphy illustrating its use to decorate pie crusts; scrimshaw (etched sperm whale teeth) and jaggin wheels; and "hogyokes" or Davis quadrants, an early type of navigating instruments. Some photographs were taken by Robert Cushman Murphy and Julius Kirchner. Others were lent to Murphy by Frank Wood. Photographs are identified.
